Artashes Geghamyan, Head of the Delegation of the RA National Assembly in OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) and the delegation member Artak Davtyan at the press conference held on July 12 summed up the results of the 21st session of the OSCE PA, which took place in Monaco on July 5-9. It was informed that the Monaco Declaration had been adopted at the end of the session.
The Head of the Armenian Delegation noted that the speeches of the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier and the key reporter Lithuanian delegate Vilya Abramikiene referred to the inner-political and foreign political developments of the 56 member countries of the OSCE territory. In one paragraph the need of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict has also been mentioned.
During the July 9 plenary session Artashes Geghamyan in the name of the delegation had particularly recorded in his speech that two days ago an Armenian military dies from the Azerbaijani sniper’s bullet, and that fact Azerbaijan tried to distort.
The Head of the Armenian Delegation also delivered a speech in the political and economic committees, talked about the world financial-economic crisis, made a proposal and interpellations. It was said in the proposal that it would be right to invite OSCE PA international experts, which would prompt the delegates of the 56 member countries what prior events organize to prevent the consequences of the second wave of the financial-economic crisis. According to Artashes Geghamyan, the key reporter of the Economic Committee, British MP Lord Tony Lloyd has accepted his proposal and defended it.
He said that Xavier De Donea, Head of the Belgian Delegation in his report has touched upon the RA NA elections, assessing them as considerable progress compared with the previous elections.
Artak Davtyan, member of the RA NA Delegation in the OSCE PA drew the attention of those present to the speech made by the key reporter of the Economic Committee Lord Tony Lloyd, where it was proposed to overcome through education not only the consequences of the world financial-economic crisis, but also to provide certain developments, as a result of which the demand of the employees of low qualification in the OSCE territory would decrease in 2020 compared with 2010, and the employees of high qualification would increase.
