National Assembly Sitting Continues

On February 8 the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings, debating the legislative package “On Amending the RA Law ‘Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly,” “On Amending the RA Law on Public Service” and “On Amending the RA Law on Civil Service,” as it was interrupted at the phase of exchange of thoughts on the previous day.

Before beginning the law-making work by the NA Speaker Samvel Nikoyan’s proposal the deputies welcomed the professors and students of the International Academy of Education, who were hosted in the parliament within the NA “Open Lesson” programme.

The parliament debated the RA draft laws “On Technical Regulation,” “On Accreditation,” “On Standardization,” “On Providing Unity of Measurements,” “On Amending the RA Law on Conformity Assessment” for the second reading and for passing it completely.

Before turning to the debate of the next bill the deputies passed by voting all the bills considered the day before. In particular, the package of the RA laws “On Technical Regulation,” “On Accreditation,” “On Standardization,” “On Providing Unity of Measurements,” “On Amending the RA Law on Conformity Assessment” was completely passed in the third reading.

The package of the RA Laws “On Amending the RA Land Code,” “On Amending the RA Law on Local Self-Government” and “On Amending the RA Law on Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan” was completely passed in the second reading.

The RA bill “On Amending the RA Law on Criminal Executive Service” was passed in the first reading.

The package of the RA bills “On Amending the RA Law on the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly,” “On Amending the Law on Public Service” and “On Amending the RA Law On Civil Service” was also passed in the first reading.

Then the RA Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan submitted the RA draft law “On Amending the Legal Regime of the State of Emergency” for debate in the first reading.

The National Assembly in its second sitting continued to consider the debate the draft law “On Legal Regime of the State of Emergency.”

The debate of the item will continue at February 9 NA sitting.

Meanwhile, at the Wednesday last sitting the deputies, in accordance with the NA Rules of Procedure, addressed questions to the members of the Government.
