On March 21 the works of the four-day sittings of the National Assembly began.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan said that the NA deputy Artsruni Aghajanyan submitted an application of resignation in connection with passing to another work, and as in accordance with the law NA Rules of Procedure he had not taken back his application, it was considered accepted.
Mr Abrahamyan said that the members of the delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia Luka Bebić, who arrived in the Republic of Armenia on an official visit were in the NA Session Hall. The NA deputies greeted the guests.
Within the framework of the Open Doors policy the lecturers and students of Yeghegnadzor Branch of the Armenian State University of Economics also took part in the sitting.
The National Assembly debated, then approved the agendas of the session and the four-day sittings, passed by voting the three bills debated in the previous four-day sittings and ratified one international treaty. The NA deputies ended the debate of the bill on Making Amendments and Addendum to RA Law on Fixed Payments, which was interrupted in the previous four-day sittings.
The National Assembly began to debate the package of the draft laws of RA bill RA Electoral Code (with new edition) and laws relevant to it.
The speaker presented the main amendments existing in the draft laws and their importance.
In particular, he said that the order of the formation of the electoral committees had been reformed.
The next issue that the speaker highlighted was the provision of publicity.
Ara Simonyan introduced the view of the head committee, the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
RA Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan in his speech noticed that the order of the formation of the committees was substantiated in the draft law.
Hovhannes Margaryan presented the view of the Country of Law faction. The speaker’s speech was interrupted due to the end of the sitting.
The debate of the issue will continue at March 22 sitting.
