Candidate of Legal Sciences, docent of Yerevan State University and the member of RA Chamber of Advocates’ Karen Andreasyan was born in 1977.

1994-2002 K. Andreasyan studied and specialized in a number of institutions, including the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University (Armenia) and post-graduate of the same faculty, University of California Berkeley (USA), Oxford University (UK), Canadian Centre on Human Rights, Centre of European Press of the Netherlands.

1997-2000 he worked in a number of RA state bodies, including Yerevan Municipality, RA Defence Ministry, in the Court of First Instance, gave lectures on human rights and administrative law in School N 120 and in Police Academy.

2001-2007 he was a professor in the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University.

2001-2003 he pluralistically worked in a number of NGOs, including Centre of Free Legal Aid of RA Lawyers’ Union (as director), Civil Education Programme international organization (programme coordinator), Internews NGO (as lawyer). During the mentioned period he also gave lectures on human rights in Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Karabakh in the seminars held for the journalists.

In 2003 he worked as senior research worker in the Centre of Sociological and Legal Researches of Oxford University of Great Britain.

2003-2004 he was an international expert and consultant in the international organization Article 19 based in the UK, Open Society Justice Initiative (Hungary), Access to Information Program (Bulgaria).

2005-2008 he worked in the Association of American Lawyers as lawyer, later chief lawyer, afterwards - deputy director.

2006-2007 he pluralistically worked as Adviser to the President of RA Constitutional Court.

2007-2010 he carried out a number of TV and public projects, including the work jointly with the Centre of European Media Centre organized higher educational competition of information law and investigative press and lawyer for students, presented the TV series Theme of the Country in Yerkir Media TV Company, the TV series In Reality in Armenia TV Company.

Karen Andreasyan is an author of about twenty published scientific articles, educational textbooks and other works.

He is married with two sons.
