RA National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan Receives the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea

On July 1 the President of RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Armenia Lee Yong-Ho.

RA NA President congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of assuming the post and expressed conviction that his activity would promote the development of bilateral relations. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that Armenia gave much importance to the development of the relations with the countries of the Asian region, and in that context highlighted the cooperation with the Republic of Korea in all directions. The NA President expressed conviction that there existed big potential for the expansion and activation of bilateral relations. According to the Head of the Parliament the strengthening of the inter-parliamentary relations will promote the development of cooperation in the spheres of economy, science, education, culture and other spheres. Hovik Abrahamyan expressed willingness to support the Korean companies in the implementation of the investments and big volume sub-structural economic programs in Armenia.

Expressing his gratitude for warm reception the Ambassador Lee Yong-Ho highly assessed the visit of NA President Hovik Abrahamyan to the Republic of Korea, which was of great importance with respect to laying the Armenian-Korean relations on new, firmer bases and became an impetus for the development of cooperation. In strengthening the inter-parliamentary relations the signing of the agreement of the inter-parliamentary cooperation, which was signed by the presidents of the parliaments of the two countries in Seoul was of great importance. The Ambassador noted that the volumes of goods turnover between Armenia and Korea have been increased, there are achievements in the fulfillment of certain projects, as well as in the spheres of business contacts. He thanked the NA President for the continuous support to the functioning Korean companies in Armenia.

In the course of the meeting the sides highlighted the cooperation between Armenia and Korea within the framework of international organizations, touched upon other issues of bilateral interest too.
