Meeting at the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport

On September 18 Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Mr Armen Ashotyan and deputy chairman Ms Naira Zohrabyan met Mr Nikolay Tsvetkov, Mr Sergey Chebotaryov, Mr Alexander Mizhurenko and Ms Marina Aristarkhova, representatives of the Department of the Relations with the Foreign Country of the Development Foundation of the European Researches and Regional Cooperation of the Russian Federation.

Welcoming the guests the committee chairman Mr Armen Ashotyan, presented the spheres of the activity and the composition of the committee.

Touching upon the goals of the visit Mr Nikolay Tsvetkov said that the Department of the Relations with the Foreign Country of the Development Foundation of the European Researches and Regional Cooperation of the Russian Federation also was involved in the problems of science, education and culture. He said that till the end of the year they wanted to open the branch of the foundation in Yerevan and with that aim they also expect the support of the committee, wishing to establish cooperation relations.

In response, Mr Ashotyan said that the committee would support the foundation as it has numerous projects regarding the establishment of the civil society and solution of youth core issues. As a core issue Mr Ashotyan noted that comparatively bad knowledge of the Russian language and suggested to elaborate projects in that direction.
