Sitting of the NA Ad-hoc Committee

On June 18 the sitting of the Ad-hoc Inquiry Committee into the Events Occurred on 1-2 March 2008 in Yerevan and Their Reasons was held presided over Mr Samvel Nikoyan. At the sitting the draft law of the rules of procedure of the committee and the list of the extra-parliamentary political forces being invited to the works of the committee was discussed.

The Ad-hoc Committee approved the draft law of the rules of procedure and decided to accept the revised version of the rules of procedure, taking as a basis the recommendations. At the next sitting the committee will approve the list of the extra-parliamentary political forces being invited at its works.

By the decision of the committee a letter will be send to Mr Levon Ter-Petrosyan inviting him to attend the works of the committee. By another decision the committee will send a letter to the Head of the Heritage Faction Mr Raffi Hovannissian asking him to propose two candidates from the faction to be included in the committee, as the proposal to include the MPs Sasun Mikaelyan and Myasnik Malkhasyan in the committee by the Heritage Faction, contradicts the decision of the National Assembly.

The next sitting of the Ad-hoc Committee will be held on June 19 at 10 a.m.
