On December 21, a group of deputies from the NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs had a working meeting with the representatives of the authorizes departments at the initiative of Zaruhi Batoyan.

The opportunities existing to implement the demands stemming from the law – the physical environment, accessibility of the buildings and structures for persons with disabilities and the problems emerging in the legal practice were debated.

The representatives of the RA Prime Minister’s Staff, the RA Urban Development State Committee, the Inspectorate of the Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety and the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs took part in the meeting.

During the concerned debate some legislative regulations or gaps restrict the implementation of the check-ups on the construction in the given site after signing the final construction act, because of which the cases of violations of the accessibility requirement remain out of control.

An agreement was reached to make cartography of the problems stemming from the existing legislative and legal practice and if necessary review them for providing available physical environment for the persons with disabilities for the formation of the favourable legal field.
