Budget for 2022 of RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be Increased Compared with Current Year

On November 4, at the joint sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, the financial allocations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the payments for the membership in international organizations.

The RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan has informed that 18bln 653mln AMD is designed to allocate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs compared with the approved budget 412mln AMD or 2.25% more. 2bln 285mln AMD will be allocated by the draft budget to making payments for the membership in international organizations, instead of 2bln 197mln AMD approved by the state budget for 2021. According to the Minister, the growth was 4,47%.

The RA Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan noted that the Ministry would implement 5 programmes and 8 events in 2022.

1bln 953mln AMD was designed by the programme Government Policy Revision and Implementation in the sphere of the Foreign Affairs.

2bln 295mln AMD will be allocated for the implementation of the programme Cooperation with the International Organizations.

13bln 996mln 300.000 AMD were designed by the programme Organization and Implementation of the Activity of the RA Diplomatic Services’ Bodies in the Foreign States.

183.6mln AMD was designed by the programme Implementation of the Protocol Events in the RA and Foreign States.

It has been noted that the priorities of the foreign policy are the ensuring of security in the RA and Artsakh, the recognition and the condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, the ensuring of peace and stability in the region and the return of the captives.

As Vahe Gevorgyan has assured that in 2022 the institution will continue the cooperation with the international colleagues. Our country cooperates with 106 international organizations. Armenia is among five conscientious payments in paying the UN annual membership fees on time.
