At April 7 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, the draft law on Amending the Law on State Service in the RA NA Staff was debated in the first reading authored by the NA Deputies Nikolay Baghdasaryan, Viktor Yengibaryan, Sergey Atomyan, Koryun Mkrtchyan, Sergey Movsisyan and Kristine Poghosyan.
The key rapporteur Nikolay Baghdasaryan noted that it is proposed to define milder restrictions on professional work experience for the highest, main and leading positions in the passport of office of state service.
According to it, it is provided to replace at least required five years of the state service experience with three years by the initiative and at least five years of professional work experience replace with three years during last 10 years too.
The co-rapporteur, the Deputy Chair of the Committee Anna Karapetyan stated that the deputies’ initiative can be viewed as a temporary solution until the complete implementation of the reforms in the fields of public and civil service.
The Acting Head of the Civil Service Bureau of the RA Prime Minister Staff Vache Kalashyan presented the endorsement of the Government. It has been noted that their bureau also is in favor of changes.
As a result of voting, the draft law was approved by the Committee.
