Problems on Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise Discussed

On April 26, at the debate the Working Group of the Legislative Format Analysis of the Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise adjunct to the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment moderated by Mary Galstyan touched upon the items on the nature protection.

The RA NA deputy, the Head of the Working Group Mary Galstyan considered necessary raising the problems of the sphere, making up the road map and being led by it.

“The sphere needs legislative regulations,” the Head of the Working Group noted.

Azganush Drnoyan, the Acting Director of the Environmental Impact Expertise Center of the RA Nature Protection presented the background of the adoption of the RA Law on the Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise, emphasized its use, as a result of which numerous problems were used. According to her, in the course of time new problems emerged, that is why the executive body would present amendments and addenda in the near future, which would be put for public debate.

The speakers voiced a number of items which related to the awareness of the given community population in the environmental protection and their participation in the solution of the problems.

Specialists of the health care sphere also would take part in the next debate of the Working Group.
