Head of Parliament Meets with Iran’s Majlis Speaker

In the morning of April 8, within the framework of the 140th Session works of the Inter-Parliamentary Union the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Majlis Speaker of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Larijani.

Welcoming Ararat Mirzoyan, Ali Larijani has noted that the ties between our two states are brotherly, and its sign was also the official visit of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Iran.

Congratulating Ararat Mirzoyan on being elected Speaker of the National Assembly Iran’s Majlis Speaker touched upon the issues of the parliamentary cooperation and the activation of the economic relations between the two countries.

The Speaker of the RA Parliament has noted that the friendly relations between Armenia and Iran are based on the centuries-old historical-cultural relations and expressed confidence that the cooperation between the two countries will also develop at parliamentary level.

In the course of the meeting the interlocutors talked upon the deepening of cooperation in the spheres of high technologies, energy carriers, finance and other spheres.

Ali Larijani invited the Speaker of the National Assembly to visit Iran, and Ararat Mirzoyan gladly accepted the invitation.
