On May 20 the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov met with a group of students from the Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan State University and answered the questions concerning them.

At the students’ request Eduard Sharmazanov touched upon the inner and foreign political developments in Armenia, answered a series of questions regarding the national image and aspirations of the youth. He introduced the ideology of Nzhdeh on the mission of parties, his understanding of the increase of party role, deemed inadmissible making the power a goal, classifying them only a means, talked about the importance of patriotic upbringing by the cognition of national values.

Referring to the foreign political priorities of Armenia, he emphasized the deepening of the strategic relations of our country with Russia, in parallel with that the continuation of cooperation and rapprochement with the European Union, and the factor of the establishment and development of peaceful co-existence and good-neighbourly relations.

Eduard Sharmazanov also talked about the steps aimed at the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the inadmissibility of the use of double standards on that national and all-human tragedy, the consistent and purposeful policy stemming from the national interests of our country, in that issue the necessity of the active role of Armenia’s every citizen directed at the strengthening of his/her country.
