RA NA Deputy Speaker Responded to the Announcements by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey
1 / 1

Today the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov has made a comment, touching upon the critical assessments made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, which are addressed to the announcements made in connection with the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide by the USA President Barack Obama, President of France Nicolas Sarkozy and presidential candidate of France François Hollande . Regarding this the NA Deputy Speaker has said:

“Armenia welcomes the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the condemnation of the crimes directed to the humanity and the criminalization of its denial. Referring to the proposal of Turkey on discussion of the fact of the Armenian Genocide, then I’ll note once again that the fact of the Armenian Genocide can never be a matter of discussion in any case. The only obstacle for the establishment of the Armenian-Turkish normal relations is Turkey, which is going on to keep in blockade the Republic of Armenia, speak with preconditions with its neighbour and continuously deny the fact of the Armenian Genocide.

The Armenian-Turkish relations normalization is only possible, when Turkey ends up the above-mentioned posture and assume its international obligations.”
