At the sitting of October 18 moderated by the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Khosrov Harutyunyan debated issues concerning the sphere of economy.

The Chairman of the RA State Commission for the Protection of the Economic Competition Artak Shaboyan presented the Annual Activity of the Committee Programme for 2018.

Afterwards the Deputy Chairman of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission Mikayel Soghomonyan presented for debate the Activity Programme of the Commission for 2018.

The members of the Committee addressed numerous questions to the speaker, which mainly related to the tariff policy and the liberalisation problems of the energy sphere.

The draft law on Amending the RA Tax Code was debated in the first reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Davit Ananyan has noted that the conclusion of the RA Government on the draft law is not positive. The Committee members did not endorse the draft law.

The draft law on Amending the RA Law on Protection of Economic Competition was also debated in the first reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investment Tigran Khachatryan has noted that the Government is for the regulations to be proposed.

As a result of debate, the Committee members endorsed the draft law for including it in the draft laws of the agendas of the session and the upcoming regular sittings.

On the same day the regular sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and Protection of Human Rights moderated by Hrayr Tovmasyan was held.

The Deputy Head of RA Police adjunct to the RA Government Vardan Yeghiazaryan presented the draft law on Amending the RA Law on the Legal Regime of the State of Emergency.

The MPs Rustam Makhmudyan, Hrayr Tovmasyan presented their viewpoints and recommendations relating to the bill.

As a result of debate, the bill with the endorsement of the Committee will be included in the draft law of the agenda of the upcoming regular sittings of the second session of the RA NA sixth convocation.

Vardan Yeghiazaryan also presented for debate the package of bills on Amending the RA Criminal Code, on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements and on Amending the RA Law on the RA Citizenship.

The draft laws were endorsed and will be included in the draft law of the upcoming sittings' agenda.

The MP Nikol Pashinyan presented to the attention of the Committee the draft law on Amending the RA Law on Keeping the Arrested and Detained Persons.

The NA deputies Rustam Makhmudyan and Arpine Hovhannisyan presented their viewpoints on the draft law, and it was endorsed.

The MP Gevorg Petrosyan presented the RA draft law on Amending the RA Criminal Procedure Code.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Artak Asatryan, the NA deputies Hrayr Tovmasyan and Rustam Makhmudyan presented their viewpoints on the bill under debate. The presented draft law was not endorsed.

A number of bills were presented to the Committee for preliminary debate and endorsement before the second reading and later were endorsed and will be included in the draft laws of the upcoming sittings' agenda.
