On June 14, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia Tian Erlong.

Welcoming the Ambassador in the parliament, Ara Babloyan highly assessed the current level of the Armenian-Chinese relations based on the long-term friendship. In his word, the RA NA President highlighted the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in the development and deepening of bilateral relations. In this context, Ara Babloyan touched upon the formation of the Friendship Groups in the newly elected parliament and expressed hope that due to the active relations of the Friendship Groups and cooperation, the Armenian-Chinese relations will turn into a new phase of development.

The Ambassador of China to Armenia Tian Erlong congratulated Ara Babloyan on being elected RA National Assembly President and wished him success in his working activities.

According to his word, the Ambassador emphasized the role of the Armenian-Chinese traditional friendship in the development of the relations between the two countries. The Ambassador highly appreciated the activities of Armenia-China Friendship Group formed in the previous parliament and expressed hope that the newly elected parliament will also actively cooperate with the parliament of China, implementing mutually beneficial programmes of bilateral interest.

At the end of the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the perspectives of the Armenian-Chinese cooperation in the spheres of education, economy and culture.
