On December 10, the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Head of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Observation Mission Eduard Sharmazanov with the Members of the IPA CIS Delegation visited the Memorial Complex to the Memory of Victims of Repression in Kysgyzstan and paid tribute to the memory of the victims. The deputies highlighted the condemnation of past crimes for preventing the new ones.
The NA Deputy Speaker noted: “Today, on December 10, is the UN Declaration Day of Protection of Human Rights; we bow our heads before the memory of all innocent victims. Who, if not we, the parliamentarians, should fight for the protection of human rights and against crimes. My people have become a victim of such crime at the beginning of the twentieth century in Ottoman Turkey and at the end of the century in Sumgait and Baku. In April of this year Azerbaijan’s aggression against Artsakh was a severe violation of human rights. Today, we should say our united ‘no’ to today’s barbarians. That is the only true respect before the innocent victims buried here.”
