On October 6, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Galust Sahakyan received the Deputy Speaker of Riksdag, Parliament of the Swedish Kingdom Esabelle Dingizian.

Welcoming the guest in the National Assembly of Armenia, Galust Sahakyan remembered with warmth the meeting in 2015.

The Head of the parliament highlighted the expansion of multilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation with the Scandinavian region and especially with Sweden and the comprehensive inter-parliamentary contacts.

In the word of the National Assembly Speaker, there are still works to be done in this sphere for further deepening the cooperation. In this context Galust Sahakyan welcomed the activities of the Friendship Groups functioning in the parliaments of the two countries and expressed hope that new ways of cooperation will be indicated in future.

The Speaker of the National Assembly highly assessed the support of Sweden to the democratic processes in Armenia and reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to continue and deepen the constructive dialogue between the two countries.

Galust Sahakyan expressed his gratitude to Mrs Dingizian for the great contribution to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

Thanking the NA Speaker for the warm reception in the native parliament, Esabelle Dingizian emphasized the Armenian-Swedish parliamentary effective cooperation. Mrs Dingizian assured that she will contribute to further strengthening and deepening the relations between the two countries.

At the meeting the parties discussed other issues of bilateral interest.
