On September 23, Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan and Head of the RA NA Armenia-Mexico friendship group Vahram Baghdasaryan met with the delegation led by Head of European Department of Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States Francisco del Rio

During the meeting, the interlocutors spoke about the necessity of sustainable and dynamic development and intensification of interparliamentary ties, highlighted the active cooperation and frequent mutual visits between the friendship groups.

The parties considered necessary the advancement of commercial-economic, cultural, humanitarian, industrial ties.    

Vahram Baghdasaryan expressed confidence that Francisco del Rio ’s visit to the RA Natioan Assembly will give an impetus and will be effective for the further development of cooperation.

Artak Zakaryan spotlighted the balanced position of the United Mexican States towards the NK conflict settlement.

Ambassador Francisco del Rio informed about the Mexican party’s intention to have a honourary consul of Mexico in Yerevan . This was welcomed by the Armenian parliamentarians, considering it a very important step for the advancement of bilateral ties.

Touching upon the role of the Armenian community in Mexico , the guest assured that the Armenian community is totally integrated in the country’s domestic life. He has informed that a friendship group with Armenia was established in the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico.

Francisco del Rio mentioned that Mexico enshrined in its Constitution the principles of foreign policy: self-determination of nations, territorial integrity, peaceful settlement of conflicts, non-use of force, international cooperation among them. Guided by that principle, Mexico supports Minsk Group works and wishes the best for the Armenian and Azerbaijani people.

Let us note that Head of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan will pay a return visit to Mexico .
