On August 30, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Human Rights and Social Affairs Elinar Vardanyan met with the representatives of Transparency International Anti-Corruption Centre and experts of European Center for Not-for-Profit Law.

During the meeting they touched upon the amendments proposed by the legislative package on NGOs.

Welcoming the guest, Elinar Vardanyan presented the procedure of the discussion and adoption of the legislative package, touched upon the proposed amendments. The Committee Chair mentioned that several provisions still need clarification and added that all the problematic issues will be discussed between the first and the second reading.

Mrs Vardanyan highlighted the explanations provided by the Centre on some provisions.

The interlocutors discussed the possibility of applying to court, the Company’s obligations and responsibilities, the protection of human rights of the Organization members, some details concerning volunteers and several other articles.

International standards of the sphere were also touched upon; some recommendations on the resolution of conceptual issues and further improvement of the legislative package were submitted.
