On July 11, the RA NA Deputy Speaker, Co-Chair of Interparliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA National Assembly  and the Georgian Parliament Hermine Naghdalyan and members of the Interparliamentary Committee met with the delegation led by Manana Kobakhidze, Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

Welcoming the guests, Hermine Naghdalyan emphasized that the traditional friendship and spiritual ties between Armenia and Georgia have the history of many centuries. From the perspective of providing development and continuity of interstate and interparliamentary dialogue between the two countries, Mrs Naghdalyan highlighted the mutual visits, meetings of various levels, as well as the activity of the Interparliamentary Committee.  The Deputy Speaker touched upon the interaction of the two countries’ delegations on international platforms, underlining that the cooperation in this field has been rather effective recently.

Hermine Naghdalyan has touched upon our country’s most serious problems, particularly, the Nagorno Karabakh problem. In this context the parties spotlighted the conflict settlement by peaceful and negotiation means, within the framework of the OSCE Minsk group. Mrs Naghdalyan also talked about the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan at the beginning of April, noting that it once again showed Azerbaijani authorities’ bellicose policy. 

To make the bilateral cooperation more effective and practical, the parties discussed the possibility of cooperation within new formats.

During the meeting the parties also touched upon the provision of regional security, economic cooperation and other issues of mutual concern.
