The RA National Assembly President’s address reads:

“Dear children and parents, I congratulate you on the occasion of International Day for Protection of Children.

The child’s role and importance for the state is the same, as for every family. Not evaluating that role and importance, not promoting the development will mean not to think about and not to take steps for the progress of the country.

The reliable pledge of the peaceful and safe childhood is the state creating peace and being able to defend it and considering its citizens’ welfare as a irreversible target.

With the children’s birth the basis of the house gets more strengthened, their future becomes more visible, the love and warmth increase inside the walls of the house and among the family members. It is like that in case of the state, when every child’s birth means increase of the potential of the state, one more reliable guarantee for the firmness of its basis, one more solid stone on its rising wall, one more defender of its peace and one more stronghold at the rear of that defender.

As the state is all of us, and the state is for all of us, the destiny of all children born and being raised in our country, their present and future should concern us all: both the state structures and the citizens – everybody’s duty should be the protection of all children’s rights and giving them opportunities for being formed and showing themselves, guide and accompany them. And all this should be done with love and warmth, because every child is the future of our country, and the Motherland without love and warmth is not a Motherland.

Once again congratulating you on International Day for Protection of Children, I send my wishes to all children of Armenia, our little compatriots of Artsakh and Diaspora. Let peace and success be the inseparable companions of their destinies”
