On January 25, at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Elinar Vardanyan the legislative package envisaging amendments to the RA law “On NGOs” and to a number of RA laws was debated.

The key speaker, the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Krmoyan touched upon a series of problems being regulated by the package.

The Committee Chair Elinar Vardanyan noted that the package of the draft laws was debated with all the concerned sides, particularly with the NGOs, to find an admissible version for the solution. The Committee Chair also informed that the amendments proposed will be debated once more, and parliamentary hearings will be organized. Thus, Elinar Vardanyan recommended including the package of the draft laws only in the big agenda.

The package was endorsed to be included in the draft agenda of the ninth session of the NA fifth convocation.

At the sitting of the Committee a decision was made to organize parliamentary hearings on “NGOs” and the enclosed package on February 17, at 11:00.
