On June 30 in the National Assembly the press conference of the RA NA Delegation to PACE was held. The Head of the Delegation Hermine Naghdalyan, members of the Delegation Naira Zohrabyan and Arpine Hovhannisyan presented details on the works of the PACE Summer Session held in Strasbourg on June 22-26. As the Head of the Delegation Hermine Naghdalyan informed, besides her the members of the Delegation Naira Zohrabyan, Arpine Hovhannisyan, Armen Rustamyan, Levon Zurabyan, Mher Shahgeldyan and Vahan Babayan also took part in the works of the Session. To the assessment of the Delegation members, in this Session they worked consolidated, overloaded and very effective.

All the participants of the press conference highly assessed the joint and effective work of the RA NA Delegation, the diplomatic structures of Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora, due to which the Delegation recorded significant achievements for the benefit of the Armenians. They noted, in particular that thanks to big amount of work done by the Armenian Delegation the wording “Occupation of Nagorno Karabakh and 7 adjacent regions” became possible to remove from the report on the democratic institutions of Azerbaijan, and for including it in the report, as Hermine Naghdalyan noted, the Azerbaijani Delegation had done a big amount of work for lasting period. In the word of the Head of the Delegation, the removal of the wording from the report on Azerbaijan’s democratic institutions is of very big political importance. Before the plenary sitting the members of the RA NA Delegation to PACE presented five recommendations to the Monitoring Committee, on out of the four the Committee gave positive opinion.

The members of the Delegation also took part in the works of the political and other Committees and the debate of the issues, gave numerous speeches and asked questions.

Hermine Naghdalyan highly assessed the work done by the Delegation members especially in the political groups.

Naira Zohrabyan and Arpine Hovhannisyan also highlighted the joint and effective work of the RA NA Delegation, the diplomatic structures of Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora, touched upon the lobbyist work being done in the PACE, and sometimes the inadmissible work style. Referring to the effective work by the RA NA Delegation, Arpine Hovhannisyan has noted that it will be continuous. Naira Zohrabyan has informed that the Delegation member Vahan Babayan made a report which related to the restriction of the education of the youth in the unrecognized states.

Hermine Naghdalyan considered concerning for small delegations the lobbyist activities being implemented by some delegations, as Turkish and Azerbaijani ones in the PACE.

Hermine Naghdalyan also mentioned the countries, whose delegations supported the Armenian delegates. Those countries are Italy, France, Greece, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
