On May 26 within the framework of the NA President’s official visit the RA NA deputy Hovhannes Sahakyan, Head of the Armenia-Canada Friendship Group, and Harold Albrecht, the Head of the Canada-Armenia Group, in a solemn ceremony signed a joint declaration of the Friendship Groups in Ottawa. The Declaration is aimed at strengthening relations between the Parliament of Canada and the RA National Assembly and expanding the dialogue and mutual support on international platforms.

Adopting a joint declaration, the parties announced that they will strive to expand the already existing good relations in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries’ parliaments. They will seek to boost the close and direct cooperation between the Canada-Armenia and Armenia-Canada Parliamentary Groups. The parties encourage the joint works of the two parliaments aimed at rule of law, exchange of experience in struggle for human rights and against terrorism and the implementation of joint programs.
