Visit of the NA Standing Committee to Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute

On May 6 the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan, Committee members Tevan Poghosyan and Artur Stepanyan were on working visit in Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute of the RA Ministry of Defense.

In the Hall of the Scientific Council of the Military Institute the Committee members met with the commander’s personnel. The deputies were presented the history of the creation of the military institution and re-formation, educational process, the principles of its organization and the courses.

Welcoming the commander’s personnel the Committee Chairman has noted that the goal of the visit is to get acquainted with problems and achievements of the institute. He, particularly, highlighted the visit in the context of the debate of the legislative package “On the Status of the Military Units and Military Institutions” and “On Amending the RA Law on Education.” Mr Nahapetyan has noted that by passing the package serious reforms will be made in the system.

Taking a tour in the territory of the institute the Committee members were interested in the cadets' everyday life, their social-communal conditions, got familiarized with the conditions of the auditoriums of the Military Institute. They also observed the construction works of the new subsidiary buildings of the Military Institute.
