Working Meeting

On April 21 at the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Elinar Vardanyan and backed by the USAID SANAP a working meeting with a number of NGOs was held to discuss the problems concerning the social protection of the children left with care.

Welcoming the guests, Elinar Vardanyan highlighted the work of the NGOs for voicing the problems existing in the sphere and the willingness of discussing them with those responsible for it. She has noted that the goal of the working meeting is to discuss the strategy of the government on social security of the children left without parental care and the graduates of the orphanages.

The docent of the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies of the YSU Faculty of Sociology Anahit Sahakyan and the Head of the Department of Family, Women and Children’s Issues of the RA Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs Lena Hayrapetyan and  Head of the Children Reception and Orientation Center of the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR) Mira Antonyan mentioned the problems existing in the sphere.

At the end of the meeting Elinar Vardanyan has noted that the Committee will be consistent for the solution of the raised problems and will submit recommendations for the improvement of the sphere.
