On March 17 in the RA National Assembly the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly began, which presided over the Euronest PA Co-Presidents Heidi Hautala and Borys Tarasyuk.

The RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan delivered an opening speech at the formal opening ceremony.

The RA President Serzh Sargsyan delivered a speech at the opening of the Session.

The Vice-President of the European Parliament Ryszard Czarnecki presented an address on behalf of Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament.

The Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Traian Hristea presented an address on behalf of the European Union.

The Euronest PA Co-Presidents Heidi Hautala and Borys Tarasyuk also delivered speeches.

The Representative of the Latvian Parliament Rihards Kols, Emin Yeritsyan, Co-Chair of CORLEAP, Mikayel Hovhannisyan on behalf of the Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership had a welcome address from the Euronest PA observers.

After the adoption of the draft agenda the participants debated and by voting adopted the draft Resolution on Engaging in a stronger partnership between the EU and Eastern European partner countries through the European Neighbourhood Instrument for 2014-2020 by the Co-Rapporteurs of the Committee on Political Affairs, Human Rights and Democracy Michal Boni (European Parliament) and Viktor Dolidze (Georgia), the draft Resolution on Infrastructural cooperation between the EU and Eastern Partnership countries: road, rail and air transport joint projects by the Co-Rapporteurs Alberto Cirio (European Parliament) and Mher Shahgeldyan (Armenia) of the Committee on Economic Integration, Legal Approximation and Convergence with EU Policies, the draft Resolution on challenges, potential and new engagement in cooperation on energy efficiency and renewable sources with the Eastern Partnership by the Co-Rapporteus Knut Fleckenstein (European Parliament) and Tudor Deliu (Moldova) of the Committee on Energy Security and the draft Resolution on Culture and intercultural dialogue in the context of the Eastern Partnership by the Co-Rapporteurs Tatjana Zdanoka (European Parliament) and Ceyhun Osmanlu (Azerbaijan) of the Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Society.

The draft Resolution on the Russian military aggression against Ukraine and the urgent need for a peaceful resolution of the conflict presented by the Co-Chair of the Euronest PA, member of the Ukrainian Parliament Borys Tarasyuk on behalf of the Bureau of the Euronest PA has been debated and adopted in the extraordinary procedure.

The draft Resolution prepared by the Armenian and European Parliament on the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide has been debated and adopted with 33 for and 4 against in the extraordinary procedure.

The work of the Ordinary Session of the Euronest PA will resume on 18 March.
