Visit to the Memorial Complex of Tsitsernakaberd
1 / 3

On October 9 the delegation led by the member of the European Parliament Eleni Theocharous accompanied by the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan visited the Memorial Complex of Tsitsernakaberd.

Eleni Theocharous and the members of the delegation laid flowers at the monument of the 1915 Armenian Genocide.

The European Parliament officially recognized and condemned the 1915 Armenian Genocide back in 1987.

The Head of the delegation, noting that each time visiting the Genocide Memorial Complex she gets shocked, has opined that Turkey finally would apologize for the crime and recognize the Armenian Genocide.

Eleni Theocharous has noted that in the European Parliament she works in that direction, and has added that in her country, in Cyprus, which has been one of the first countries recognizing the Armenian Genocide, there is a strong Armenian community, which also plans to organize events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

Eleni Theocharous has also noted that she expresses her condolences and pays respect to the victims, survivors and to all those who build new, democratic Armenia.

The guests have also been to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
