Parliamentary Hearings in the National Assembly

On November 28 the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs convened parliamentary hearings to discuss the RA draft laws “On Accounting” and “On Accounting in Public Sector.” Deputies, representatives of the government, public sector and those responsible for the sphere took part in the hearings.

The Committee Chairman Gagik Minasyan has informed that it is designed to pass the abovementioned draft laws during the spring session.

The key reporter, the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan submitted the draft laws, then answered the questions of those present, which mainly were relating to the provisions of the bills under debate, the necessity of the accountants’ training after their adoption and the involvement of the additional resources for the entities and the fulfillment of the new statutes for small and medium entrepreneurship.

During the parliamentary hearings the Chairman of the Board of the Association of the Armenian Accountants and Auditors Aharon Chilingaryan, the Deputy Chairman of the Board Gnel Khachatryan and the member of the same Board Hovhannes Petrosyan submitted their approaches on the bills presented during the parliamentary hearings. They deemed important and necessary the adoption of the bills and presented recommendations.

In his final speech Suren Karayan thanked the participants for the active and effective discussions and assured that the sounded recommendations would be taken into account during the period from the first to the second reading and if necessary, some articles would be edited. The Deputy Minister has assured that in terms of the reforms made in the sphere in the CIS countries Armenia is considered to be a leading country.

Summing up the hearings Gagik Minasyan expressed conviction that the discussions gave an opportunity once again to discuss together with the deputies, representatives of the public sectors and specialists of the sphere the reforms under fulfillment, submit important recommendations, which would promote the solution of the existing problems in the bills.
