At the Sittings of the NA Standing Committees

On September 24 at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs the package of bills proposing amendments to the law “On Amending the RA Law on Fighting against Money Laundry and Terrorism Financing and 14 laws connected with them introduced in the second reading by the Chairman of the RA Central Bank Artur Javadyan was debated.

The key reporter said that after the first reading 101 recommendations had been submitted on the draft law, from which 89 had been completely accepted, 4 partially, clarifications were made on 3 of them, and 5 of them were refused.

The Committee Chairman Koryun Nahapetyan noticed that after the first reading the removed from the draft laws should be debated and voted in the first reading.

The Committee Chairman’s views were also admissible for the members of the Committee.

In his final speech Artur Javadyan admitted the remarks and recommendation and assured the attendees that during the upcoming three days they would be debated and included in the package of bills.

The Committee endorsed the whole package submitted for the second and firsts readings.

At the sitting of the Committee issues relating to the activity of the Committee, particularly the themes of the parliamentary hearings in the autumn session, the terms of holding them and visits to be paid by the law enforcement bodies of the Committee.

On the same day the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs was held. The draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Minimum Monthly Salary” authored by the deputy Hrant Bagratyan was debated. The deputy proposes to make the minimum monthly salary 72.500 drams. The Minister of Finance Davit Sargsyan presented the negative position of the government on the bill, noting that the adoption of the draft law will require additional expenses from the state budget.

The deputies also debated the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Accumulated Pensions” authored by Hrant Bagratyan. The position of the government on the bill was also negative.
