On April 26 the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov received the German journalist Frank Nordhausen.
The European journalist was interested in Eduard Sharmazanov’s assessments on the elections of the National Assembly, the settlement of the Armenian-Turkish relations, possible developments going on over the NKR problem and Iran.
The NA Deputy Speaker, in particular, has said the RA authorities are inclined resolute in holding fair and democratic elections.
Touching upon the settlement of the Armenian-Turkish relations, Mr Sharmazanov has noticed that Armenia continues to be for establishing relations without preconditions, and it is against making a matter discussion the reality of Genocide. According to Sharmazanov, that is all-national approach, which implements the RA President Serzh Sargsyan.
Regarding the NKR issue, according to the NA Deputy Speaker, the problem should be solved within the OSCE Minsk Group framework, based on the non-use of the force or threat of force, the principles of territorial integrity and the peoples’ self-determination right. Whereas, Azerbaijan continuously breaks the preliminary agreements cherish of solving the issue in military way.
Touching upon the opportunity of commencing war against Iran and its consequences Eduard Sharmazanov has noticed that Armenia has good neighbourly relations, and it is for the peaceful settlement of the problem. According to the NA Deputy Speaker, the solution of the problem through military is fraught of numerous dangers, regional social serious disaster. “The peaceful settlement of the problem will be everybody’s victory, especially, the means of the peaceful solution of the issue are not still exhausted,” the NA Deputy Speaker said.
Upon the journalist’s request Eduard Sharmazanov also touched upon Armenia’s multi-vector foreign policy, the problems of Armenia’s European integration and regional security.
