On November 8 the regular sitting of the Youth Parliament was held, which was moderating Karlen Khachatryan.
Opening the sitting the Acting Speaker of the Youth Parliament thanked the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan for the initiative of the establishment of the Youth Parliament, as according to his statement it is a new platform for the formation of the new political culture.
The members of the Georgian Youth Parliament also attended the Youth Parliament, on behalf of which Teona Lavrelashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Youth Parliament delivered a speech.
Touching upon the Armenian-Georgian ties and relations she has noticed that it is necessary to make rapprochement in the cooperation of the two countries, strengthen the ties and relations.
After approving the agenda the members of the Youth Parliament began to discuss the legislative initiative “On Amending the RA Law On Education,” which submitted Karlen Khachatryan, Marusya Anushavanyan, Hayk Konjoyan, Hripsime Sargsyan and Knarik Ghazaryan. The Head Committee endorsed the initiative. The aim of the bill is to support the socially vulnerable or gifted students in the state higher educational institutions.
As a result of voting the bill was passed.
The MPs of the Youth Parliament has debated the draft law “On Amending the RA Labor Code” submitted by Vladimir Gevorgyan, Sergey Kharatyan and Vardan Jangozyan, by which it is proposed to define certain additional social and employment guarantees for the employees working in the mountainous and alpine settlements.
