On March 26, on the occasion of the International Theatre’s Day Artur Baghdasaryan, the RA NA Chairman met the principal directors of several theatres of Armenia and sent congratulations to the staff of the theatres under their leadership wishing new creative passions and new outburst on the stages. Gegham Grigoryan, the principal director of the Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A.Spendiarian, Vahe Shahverdyan, the principal director of the Academic Theatre after G. Sundukian,  Armen Khandikian, the principal director of the Drama Theatre after H. Ghaplanian,  Sos Sargsyan, the principal director of Hamazgayin Theatre, Ara Yernjakian, the principal director of the Chamber Theatre, Ruben Babayan, principal director of the Puppet Show were at the meeting.

The meeting was changed into a talk, during which the issues of cultural and theatre life were submitted to the Chairman of the Parliament. The absence of the law regulating the sphere activity was noted, financial and moral issues were underscored (law salary of the actors, the adding of operating costs, the necessity of exempting from some taxes or compensation, the absence of indefiniteness of the structure conferring titles and order of conferring titles), dubbing the films from other languages in Armenia, to bring the theatrical art out of Yerevan and the necessity of restoring the theatres in the marzes, the problem of calling up the graduates of the higher theatrical institutes and  working problems.

The RA NA Chairman Artur Baghdasaryan, inviting he participants of the meeting again in April proposed to jointly elaborate the draft on theatre and theatrical activity and discuss the issues providing the activity with the financiers. The Chairman of the Parliament promised Ruben Babayan, the principal director of the Puppet Show to support financially, so to get out of the difficult situation and not to deprive the children from seeing the plays.
