On April 6 women representing different spheres, who were awarded Medal of Honour of the National Assembly by the Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan were hosted in the parliament. During the solemn ceremony NA Speaker personally medals to them. Congratulating the women representing the spheres of culture, education, health and police, who arrived from marzes of Armenia and Yerevan, Hovik Abrahamyan said:
“Dear women,
I often receive in this Gilded Hall different people and delegations. But today this hall is full of some kind of special light and warmth, and that is, dear women, your light and warmth.
When on my initiative, to which my colleagues of the parliament joined, we added the Armenian holidays, by my assessment, with one of the most important holidays, marking the Family Day, we have meant the character of all of you, all our mothers and women as the pillar and guard of the Armenian family.
Today, I am really proud that in this hall full of your warmth I can address my gratitude as Speaker of the National Assembly, Armenian man to you, dear women. Frankly, for me that division from March to April is conventional, as we shall always assess the Armenian woman, because the Armenian woman has been, is and I am sure, will always be the beacon of our concerns and our achievements.
Dear women, when I see what heights the Armenian woman has reached in any sphere of the development and progress of our country, I evaluate the big and irreplaceable potential that I s in any Armenian woman, be she a teacher, figure of culture, soldier’s mother or politician.
Frankly, I always have the feeling that we, Armenian men, always do something less to our mothers, wives, daughters and sisters, and that is surely true, because they sow in us harmony, solidarity, tolerance, love and warmth.
Dear women, you deserve special tribute and attention, and today I address my sincere gratitude and congratulation to all the women, who bring up and see off our children, who are involved in science, education, health care and culture. They bring up an Armenian citizen, Armenian soldier for future. Armenian woman only can say after her soldier son’s death from the enemy’s bullet that she is proud of her son, being deceased for Motherland. And when I heard recently the Armenian mother’s words, I was again convinced that we are invincible, because we have such sacrificing mothers, who overcoming the pain and sorrow of the soul can say such words.
Dear women, whatever we say today about you, will be less, because still centuries ago a Greek philosopher has said that the life of whole humankind is not enough for appreciating our mothers, wives and sisters.
Thus, we are thankful that you exist and make our each day warmer and kinder.
I congratulate you on being awarded the Medal of Honour of the National Assembly. I wish you to be always smiling, beautiful and happy.”
During the sincere and warm talk following the solemn ceremony those who were awarded, expressed their gratitude to the Speaker of the National Assembly for displayed attention, attitude and assessment. At the end of the ceremony they have been taken a photo with the NA Speaker.
