Debates of RA Draft Law on RA 2011 State Budget Begin in the Standing Committees of RA National Assembly

On October 18 in the standing committees of RA National Assembly the debates of RA draft law on 2011 State Budget of the Republic of Armenia began. The joint sitting of the standing committees of RA National Assembly was convened, which attended the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, representatives of legislative and executive bodies and journalists.

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan introduced the main directions of 2011 social-economic development and tax-budget policy.

According to him, the economic policy of RA Government in 2011  will be mainly aimed at deepening the diversification of the economy and expansion of export orientation, deepening of social direction of the economic policy, development of substructures, essential improvement of business and investment environment, revelation and contribution of the additional impetuses for providing the economic growth, in parallel making reforms, which have already started, directed at the development and prior policies.

As to the Prime Minister’s assessment, the budget executive will not risky, and the existing risks will be controllable and manageable.

RA Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan presented the forecasts of RA economic and tax-budget main indices, as well as expenditures.

According to Mr Davtyan, the programme of the deposit compensation will continue, the expenses of the spheres of health care, science and education will considerably increase, and the salaries of the employees of the sphere of culture will rise in average by 15%.

The speaker expressed hope that the indices of the expecting economic growth in 2011 will be higher, than it was envisaged by the draft budget.

The Chairman of RA Central Bank Artur Javadyan introduced the conlusion of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia on 2011 draft budget. From October 19 the debates of RA draft law on 2011 State Budget of the Republic of Armenia in the standing committees of RA National Assembly will continue.
