On September 30 the head of the RPA faction, the head of Armenia-Iran Friendship Group Galust Sahakyan, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan, NA deputies Martin Sargsyan and Ara Simonyan met with the delegation led by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Nahavandian.
During the meeting the sides discussed issues concerning the development of the economic cooperation and boosting the trade.
Mr. Mohammad Nahavandian told about the achievements of the economy and growth of trade turnover of Iran during the recent years due to redtape, expressing hope that the development of the bilateral economic and trade ties would not only increase the goods turnover and would boost the development of its economy, but it would make Armenia a transit country. According to his assessment, it’s time to turn to the production sphere from the services, providing unfailing work of sub-structures and transport means.
The head of the RPA faction Galust Sahakyan ensured that there would not be obstacles impeding the development of the economic cooperation of the two countries, and concrete steps should be taken for implementing the programmes and providing mutually beneficial cooperation. That opportunity gives the geographic position, centuries-long cultural relations and the existing common interests in the development of the economy of the two countries.
The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan touched upon the development of the road substructures, which was a strategic problem and the most important precondition of the development both for economy and tourism.
Both sides registered that though Armenia and Iran had good neighbourly and economic active relation, but the possibilities and perspectives of their development were bigger, and concrete and realistic steps should be taken for realizing them.
During the meeting the perspectives of cooperation in different spheres of economy and ways of reaching them were discussed.
