Delegation of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Visits Parliament

We highlight the development of the relations between Armenia and Nepal. The two countries have rather interesting similarities, and there is necessity of more actively realizing the bilateral potential in different spheres: The member of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Narek Babayan said, welcoming the members of the delegation of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal in parliament.

The meeting took place on May 13. Representatives of Parliament of Nepal, the National Strategic Committee, the local self-government bodies, the Statistical Committee, as well as the private sector and the civil society.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection Mikayel Tumasyan emphasized the cooperation of the landlocked countries on the agenda items.

Speaking about the reforms implemented in the spheres of education and science by the programme of the Government for 2021-2026, presented the Academic City programme, noting that it will be an environment guaranteeing the modern research and innovative activity.

Reference was made to the changes implemented in the general education sphere, the educational new criteria, the crediting system, the printing of new textbooks, the teachers’ voluntary attestation process, the changes made in the election order of the school principal, the state financing growth in the sphere of science in recent years.

Thanking the MPs for the warm reception and presenting comprehensive information, the Secretary of the Committee on Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance, of the National Assembly of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Roj Nath Pande spoke about the structure and the activity of the Parliament of Nepal.

Both sides underscored the necessity of forming a Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Mikayel Tumasyan presented the process of the community enlargement, stressing the advantages and the achievements. He referred to the state programme being implemented in the sphere of agriculture, spoke about the legal reforms, the inter-state, the inter-community road construction.

At the delegation members’ request Narek Babayan gave clarifications on the pre-school education, the differences between the private and state system, the training system of the medical personnel.

Agreements were reached on collaboration in a number of spheres.
