Issues regarding implementation of platform for electronic signature of labor contracts debated
1 / 18

Amendments and addenda to the Labor Code are designed at the initiative of the Government. Regarding the implementation of the new system, the platform for electronic signature of labor contracts, many questions and concerns have arisen among employers’ and employees’ representative bodies - trade unions.

Concerning the issue, a debate was held on December 21 at the initiative of the RA NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs, which was attended by the representatives from the concerned institutions: The executive and the legislative bodies, trade unions, and the American Chamber of Commerce.

According to the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs Heriknaz Tigranyan, there are many concerns: personal data protection, system reliability. “The system should be so accessible that neither the employer nor the employee require any additional financial expenses, and the employee can easily enter the system, see the contract and accept the employment contract proposed by the employer with the confirmation button, which will be considered as signing the contract through the electronic platform,” Heriknaz Tigranyan detailed.

During the debate, reference was made to the digitalization of electronic databases, the process of inputting into the digital system.

Attaching importance to such debates, the Committee Chair noted that before debating the issue in the Parliament, it is necessary to understand the position of all the concerned parties regarding the draft in order to make it feasible and realistic.
