NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General: Budget of National Assembly is fulfilled by 97%

On June 2, at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on State and Legal Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, the RA NA Budget Execution 2022 was debated, financial and performance indicators were presented.

The approved budget of the RA National Assembly was 6 billion 262 million AMD. In order to ensure the normal operation of the Staff in the financial year, redistributions were carried out by inter-article and relevant decisions of the RA Government. As a result, the specified budget of the RA National Assembly for 5 events amounted to 6 billion 218 million AMD, the cash register expenditure was 6 billion 029 million AMD. The budget was fulfilled by 97.0%, the deviation between the approved budget and the cash register expenditure was 232.0 million AMD, which was returned to the state budget: this was stated by the RA NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General Davit Arakelyan.

In the financial year, the specified budget for the event assurance of the RA NA activity, legislative, analytical and representative services was 5 billion 426 million AMD, the cash register expenditure was 5 billion 255 million AMD, the budget was fulfilled by 96.9%. 170.5 million AMD was saved as a result of cost reduction and effective performance.

The budget for training civil servants of the Staff of the RA National Assembly was 1.2 million AMD, the cash expenditure was 270,000 AMD, 36 civil servants were trained, the budget was fulfilled by 21.4 %. The expenditures were made according to the actual number of the trained civil servants, as a result of which 990,100 AMD was saved.

The specified budget of the Fees for the RA membership in the international parliamentary organizations event was 176 million AMD, the cash register expenditure was 159.6 million AMD, the budget was fulfilled by 90.7%, and 16.3 million AMD was saved.

The specified budget for the event Support to Parties and Alliances of Parties was 510.6 million AMD, the cash register expenditure was 510.6 million AMD, the budget was fulfilled by 100%.

72.9 million AMD was planned for the purchase of the administrative equipment, which was increased by 31.0 million AMD as a result of the internal article redistribution of the allocations of the National Assembly, and the specified plan was 103.9 million AMD, and the cash register expenditure was 103.4 million AMD. The budget was fulfilled by 99.5%.

Presenting the results, the RA NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General noted that the number of drafts or packages of drafts and international agreements put into circulation in the financial year was 320, the number of laws and decisions adopted by the NA was 965.The number of conducting professional examination of draft laws and decisions and preparation of conclusions was 2282, the production of Parliamentary Week TV programme and other programmes - 36. According to Davit Arakelyan, the number of users of the official website of the National Assembly has increased, making 1 million 535 thousand 508 followers. 1658 letters were received from the citizens, and 205 citizens were accepted in the Parliament.

The Chief of Staff, Secretary General underscored that the NA Staff has successfully cooperated with a number of key international partners. Many measures were carried out within the framework of the Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia Project (MAP) of the United Nations Development Programme, the International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute, the Parliamentary Centre (Canada), the German GIZ and the Twinning programmes of the European Union.
