On May 30, at the invitation of the Chairperson of the Committee for Foreign Policy of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania Rozália-Ibolya Biró the delegation led by the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, where the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan and the member of the RA NA Friendship Group Armenia-Romania Arsen Torosyan were included, had meetings with the Chairperson of the Committee for Foreign Policy of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania Rozália-Ibolya Biró, Vice-Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies, the Head of the Romanian Delegation to OSCE PA Ilie Dan Barna, the Member of the Romanian Delegation to PACE, the Head of the Political Group ALDE Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Iulian Bulai, the Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies Ştefan Muşoiu and the Representative of National Minorities in Parliament of Romania Varuzhan Pambukchyan.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Romania Sergey Minasyan also attended the meetings. A large-scope of issues were touched upon. The situation in Nagorno Karabakh, the negotiations going on around the Peace Treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the normalization process of the relations with Turkey, the perspectives of Armenia-EU relations were discussed in detail. Reference was also made to the deepening of cooperation in the economic and energy spheres between Armenia and Romania.
The Head of the RA NA Delegation again underlined the significant role of Romania in the deployment of the EU Civilian Observation Mission.
The Romanian side expressed hope that the sides would succeed in the establishment of stable peace in the region through negotiations, as well as expressed readiness for supporting Armenia in being engaged in the projects of the European Union.
