Significant amendments took place, one may say that the law was written with new edition: the RA Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan said, presenting for debate in the first reading the draft on Amending the RA law on Assessment and Examination of the Impact on Environment and the enclosed legislative package. It was noted that the revision and the adoption of the draft stems from the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, as well as the problems emerged as a result of the use of the law and the necessity of specifying the existing regulations.
The law on Assessment and Examination of the Impact on Environment regulates the relations connected with the initiators’ rights and duties in the processes of strategic ecological assessment in the Republic of Armenia, the assessment of the impact on the environment, the state examination of the impact on the environment, the community notification, the implementation of the public hearings, giving state examination conclusion and the implementation of the activity being designed.
Hakob Simidyan clarified that the amendments are many in the main notions.
The processes related to giving examination conclusion for main provisional revision of the document having possible impact on environment and the human health are simplified within the framework of the proposing amendments.
The conclusion of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment on the initiative was positive.
The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan presented the bill on Joint Stock Companies and the package of enclosed bills authored by the Government.
The Heads of the Regions can also be reserved the power of the administration in the companies with shares belonging to the Republic of Armenia with the debated initiative in the first reading.
