The draft adaption will promote improving the quality of medical care and service in Armenia. According to the draft, licensing of medical organizations will be carried out regularly: every 5 years, the organization must certify that it meets all current licensing requirements. The RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said about this.
The revised draft law on Making Addendum to the Law on Licensing authored by the Government was debated at the RA NA regular sitting in the first reading on March 21.
According to the Minister of Health, large-scale amendments in the licensing procedures are designed. Since the licensing procedure of medical organizations operating in Armenia is quite laborious and time-consuming, hence, in order to organize the process smoothly, priority of the riskiest directions has been planned. It was noted that the most important aim is the provision of quality medical services, improvement of their methods and continuous modernization.
The deputy of Armenia Faction Armenuhi Kyureghyan inquired about the based principles the equipment will be recognized and assessed. According to Anahit Avanesyan, the standards still operate according to the procedures established by the Government decision, but it is designed to update the procedures. The process is continuous, because along with the development of medical science, not only the release period of equipment is important, but also the field of application of these equipment with new methods. “Medical science is a rather intensively developing sphere, and quality requirements for methods, education, and equipment are constantly changing. We have to raise the benchmark of standards,” the Minister of Health said.
The Committee member Hrachya Hakobyan introduced the endorsement of the Standing (Head) Committee on Health Care.
