As a result of adopting the proposed amendment and addendum to the law on Audiovisual Media, audiovisual media consumers in the RA will be able to use the identical order of broadcast programs and easily choose their preferred program. This was said by the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabrielyan.
The Government presented one proposal during the period from the first to the second reading: supporting regional network operators, audio-visual programs of authorized broadcasters were removed from the list of order. According to the key rapporteur Sisak Gabrielyan, the technical capabilities of the latter are sometimes not enough to include many channels in their network, which causes huge financial problems.
The C ommittee also debated the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on Audiovisual Media authored by the MP Sisak Gabrielyan in the second reading. As a result, it will be possible to protect the right of the TV audience to be informed, as well as to reduce the financial losses of entrepreneurs until the new tender is held.
Editorial and technical changes were introduced by the Government during the period from the first to the second reading.
The legislative initiatives debated at March 15 sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport in the second reading were endorsed .
