Vagharshak Hakobyan Meets with Students Passing Probation Period in Parliament

The interest of the Republic of Armenia demands that our country to represent itself with dignity to the international community and balance its relations with other colleagues, the Acting Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration, the member of the Civil Contract Faction Vagharshak Hakobyan said to the students of the National Academy of Sciences, Yerevan State University (YSU) and the Public Administration Academy passing probation period in parliament.

The MP presented the work of the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration and noted that the main functions is considered to be the cooperation with the Eurasian regional countries.

During the meeting Vagharshak Hakobyan touched upon the membership of Armenia to the international structures of the CSTO and EAEU, the Armenian-Russian relations, underlining the Russian Federation is the strategic partner of Armenia and assured that the membership to the EAEU is our political priority.

The students were interested in the EU Observers’ Mission in Armenia, in response to which Vagharshak Hakobyan underlined: “The EU Observers’ deployment on the border hives an opportunity to the international community to be aware of the reality.”

The MP also touched upon the Armenian-Turkish relations, highlighting the normalization of the relations with the neighbouring countries. In response to the question if sending humanitarian aid to Turkey was right, the parliamentarian noted that first of all, it is of humanitarian character. During the meeting they also spoke about the Armenian-Iranian relations.

The students were interested in the rise of democracy level in Armenia in recent years. In this context, Vagharshak Hakobyan noted that
