The Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection debated and endorsed the Government's initiatives in the second reading at the January 11 sitting chaired by Vahe Ghalumyan.

Arman Khojoyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Economy presented the draft law On Genetically Modified Organisms and the package of the enclosed draft laws. The initiative proposes to regulate the restrictions on the use of genetically modified organisms in our country. In particular, a ban is set in the Republic of Armenia for receiving, importing, testing, storing, managing, using, researching, transporting or using genetically modified organisms in other ways intended for reproduction, except for those used by scientific research organizations for research and demonstration purposes in the appropriate isolated systems established by the Government.

The executive body proposes amendments and addenda to the law On the Management of Block of Flats . The aim is to consider the management of block of flats as a type of activity specialized by legislation. The issue was presented by Armen Ghularyan, the Chairman of the RA Urban Development Committee. According to him, from the first to the second reading, the Expertise and Analytical Department of the Staff of the National Assembly presented proposals, based on which the initiative was revised. It has been noted that the law will enter into force in 2025.
