The NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment in the second reading debated and passed the draft law on Amending the Law on Territorial Government with the enclosed legislative package. During the period from the first to the second reading the package was not undergone changes, because of not being proposals.

The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan informed that it is proposed by the legislative package to move the functions related to the work of the territorial government bodies, the regional administrations to the authorized body, the area of the Ministry elaborating the policy. It is presumed that the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure will be that very Ministry.

It is expected that as a result of the adoption of the amendments, the accountability of the Governors of the regions and the efficiency of their Staff will increase.

The extraordinary sitting of the Committee was held on December 23.
