At Sitting of the Committee Regulations Being Proposed in the Electoral Code Adopted

The deputies Arpine Davoyan and Alkhas Ghazaryan propose addenda and amendments to the Constitutional Law the RA Electoral Code and to the enclosed laws.

Arpine Davoyan informed that after the first reading no proposal was presented.

According to the Chair of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan it is necessary to specify the powers of the Corruption Prevention Commission. According to him, the amendments are temporary: the entering into force of the regulations is postponed until January 2024. As the MP said, this one year will allow formulating distinct approaches on the issue: The Corruption Prevention Commission will have an opportunity to work out certain orders.

The adoption of the draft law is necessary and urgent, and the Government has no observations: the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Armenuhi Harutyunyan said.

The issue was debated in the second reading and was endorsed at the extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on November 24.
