Alen Simonyan Presents Details of the Meeting with His Georgian Colleague to the Journalists
1 / 3

At the meeting with the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili the briefing of the Speakers of the Parliaments followed. At the briefing the RA NA President particularly said: “I have always underlined that the development of the special good-neighbourly relations with Georgia is in the series of the most important priorities of the foreign policy of our country. We are greatly interested in the establishment of the strategic partnership with Georgia.”

He noted that the centuries old Armenian-Georgian friendship is based on the common values and historical-cultural heritage, adding that the meeting that ended a few minutes ago gave an opportunity to continue the discussions started in Yerevan in April of this year.

“We discussed the most different spheres of bilateral cooperation: education, culture, transport, communication, etc. We considered the issues on infrastructural programmes, which are aimed at ensuring the necessary engagement of the transport and communication international projects,” the RA NA President said.

He informed that with his Georgian colleague they also touched upon the issues of regional security and peace, and though the Armenian side is faithful to the agenda of establishing peace and stability in the region, Azerbaijan continues its expansionist policy and aggressive rhetoric, endangering the security of the region.

Alen Simonyan underlined the steps taken by Georgia for the establishment and preservation of peace and stability in the region.
