Competition Protection Commission Fines Three Entities Carrying Out Activity in the Gambling Sphere

According to the member of the Competition Protection Commission Hayk Karapetyan, this year the Commission disclosed two cases of anti-competitive agreement against one of the previous year. This year, cases of ruling position speculation have not been found out, but current proceedings are available, and it is expected that responsibility means will be on this part. “We have 40 assessment procedures of concentration accreditation, and permission was given on 40 cases. We have undergone into responsibility of 11 entities on non-accredited concentration. 56 offenses were recorded on indecent completion, on the previous year – 65,” he said particularly.

Hayk Karapetyan noted that on the previous year the amount of fines has been 64 million AMD, this year – more than 600 million AMD, which is unprecedented during the activities of the Commission. He added that recently the Commission fined three entities carrying out in the gambling sphere for the indecent competition. The amount of fine has been 433 million AMD, which is unprecedented during the activities of the Commission. The fined other entities were engaged with asphalting and purchase process.

At November 1 joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Economic Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs were voiced these data during the debate of the draft law on the RA State Budget for 2023.

In the coming year the Competition Protection Commission will carry out its activities, receiving 595 million AMD. 84.5^ of the sum will be directed to the salaries and to the articles of the payments equaled to it.

In 2023, the Commission will continue implementing the functions reserved to him by law, that is – the disclosure of the competitive maw offenses, the study of the product markets, as well as the proceedings of the permission assessment of the concentrations and state assistances.
